The Arts Society Driffield Wolds enjoyed a visit on 23 May to Sheffield by train and had a beadle guided tour of Cutlers Hall. 18 members were given a history of the hall and the support given to manufacturing in Hallamshire for over 300 years. Elephants heads were explained and the largest functional closing tool device, which was exhibited at the Great Exhibition, was admired.
Members also had the chance to visit Sheffield Cathedral before returning home. A grand day out was had by all.
Thanks to Megan Price for notes and photos.
