Successful ArtsFest Exhibition

Successful ArtsFest Exhibition

17 Apr 2018

THE ARTS SOCIETY HAMBLETON held an exhibition of members’ work in a Spring ArtsFest , from 10th to 14th April,  at Rural Arts in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.  As part of the Society’s programme to help celebrate 50 years of dedication to the fine and decorative arts, the exhibition was a unique opportunity to see some of our hidden regional talent and featured a diverse range of work by society members, some of whom had not exhibited before. The show included paintings in a variety of media, prints, photography and crafts with 90 exhibits from 20 artists.

The Hambleton group has approximately 230 members drawn from a wide area around North Yorkshire with lecture meetings and study days being held at Solberge Hall Hotel, near Northallerton.  The exhibition proved a great way to generate local publicity and offered a useful opportunity to introduce The Arts Society Hambleton to those who attended over the five days. Very positive feedback was received from both members and non-members who attended.

Arts Society Hambleton  chairman, Helen Proudley, said “This exhibition gave both the Society and Rural Arts, with whom we already have a working relationship, the opportunity to highlight new work and artists from the local area. We were delighted to be able to stage this exhibition as part of THE ARTS SOCIETY’s  50th anniversary and to spread the word about our Society’s activities”.
