Runnymede's 50th Anniversary

Runnymede's 50th Anniversary

15 Mar 2019

2019 sees The Arts Society Runnymede’s very own Golden Jubilee and, to start off this memorable year in style,  our members enjoyed a slice of scrumptious  birthday cake at the April lecture.  Here Margo Reinold, Chairperson and Gill Whitney, President, make the first cut to the background strains of The Israelites by Desmond Deckker, top of the  Pop Record charts in April 1969.  Back in the day Runnymede became the 23rd member of the then NADFAS with just a small group of members.  Within months the membership grew and here we are today with nearly 200 members and still growing.

Special events are planned throughout the year but 2 extra special dates to mark ahead  in your Diaries are the members’  lunch at beautiful Cumberland Lodge on Monday, October  21st (booking from  May) and a repeat of the lecture topic in March 1969, THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF GEMSTONES  by Joanna Hardy, expert on the Antiques  Road Show, on 18th March 2020.
