Congratulations to Felicity Sykes (Chiltern Hills), Hilary Ollerson (Head of Heritage Volunteering), Pauline Stewart (Head of Trails of Discovery) and Terrie Wheatley-Ward (Chairman Kent Area/Thanet AS), who attended the Buckingham Palace Garden Party on Tuesday 12 May in recognition of their longstanding commitment and dedication to The Arts Society.
Pauline said: “I was very proud to have been nominated by The Arts Society to attend the King’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. It was a lovely afternoon, and our group of four was chosen to meet the Duchess of Gloucester."
Felicity added: “It was hugely exciting to be invited to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party. We were lucky to have a fine day to explore the verdant gardens, listen to the military bands and cheer on the King and Queen."
Hilary reflected about: "The excitement of walking towards the palace, the numbers of hats suddenly increased and it was so exciting to enter through the big front gate. Quite a moment!"
Terrie commented: “Each of us was presented to HRH The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron of The Arts Society, who was warm and approachable. After tea, beautiful cakes and ice cream, we wandered through the gardens. Such wonderful memories.”
