Congratulations to the latest two craftspeople to have been awarded Cockpit Arts / The Arts Society Awards.
They are Laura Woodhouse, a woven textile designer (wovenbylaura.com), and Meron Wolde, a bespoke jewellery designer (meronwolde.com).
The awards aim to support those who work with traditional craft skills that are at risk of dying out. Each winner has received funded places at a Cockpit Arts incubator for a year.
Laura, whose award is funded by The Arts Society's Greater London Area, took up her placement in March. Meron's award is funded by The Arts Society's Patricia Fay Memorial Fund; she will begin in September after participating in The Prince's Trust's Creative Careers Programme.
