New Chair and an Honorary President for The Arts Society, Maidenhead
New Chair and an Honorary President for The Arts Society, Maidenhead
13 Jul 2021
At our AGM in January, our Vice Chairman, Eloise Clark, took over from Marsha Elms as Chairman. Eloise has worked closely with Marsha since the society in Maidenhead was inaugurated so the changeover has been very smooth.
In her new Chair’s report, Eloise thanked Marsha for her amazing achievement in starting the Arts Society, Maidenhead in 2017. Marsha brought the committee together from different backgrounds and they have enjoyed every minute of this exciting journey. Marsha managed to find Sponsors who were very generous and helped to get our Society off the ground. By the time of our first lecture we had enrolled over 200 members. This culminated in Maidenhead winning the prestigious Arts Society Marsh award 2020 for the best New Society Committee.
In recognition of all that she had done, the Committee asked Marsha to become our Honorary President which she accepted. Sadly, since the AGM was by Zoom Eloise was unable to present Marsha with a bouquet but she had one sent to her that morning with love and thanks from everyone.
