We enjoyed a lovely day in Cookham - this complemneted a recent and excellent lecture by Amy Lim. The guide at the gallery was extremely knowledgeable and gave some much more detail to the history behind the paintings. The gallery is run soley by volunteers - they do an amazing job.
The walking tour of the village showed us places where Stanley had gained inspiration. One of the photos shows the Jubilee Tree. This was painted by Stanley in 1936 when it was planted to celebrate the Silve jubilee of King George V - it has grown!
