The Arts Society Welwyn Garden visit to Gorhambury House

Our recent visit to Gorhambury house was a very pleasant way to spend a rainy morning in June.
After the surprisingly long drive to the front of the house, we were ushered into the entrance hall where even a visit to the wcs was an experience rarely encountered.
Vicountess Grimston then greeted us, and over tea, coffee and biscuits we learned about the history, renovations, and art works of the house.
A tour of the main rooms then followed, where it was clear that the family, while keen to preserve the Gorhambury collection, are also very much interested in adding contemporary artists to it.
