The Arts Society Appleby is delighted with the launch of their new community project for older adults who receive care at home.
In partnership with a local home care provider and with the support of their wonderful carers, we are running a series of weekly creative workshops. Led by artist Annie Quicke, participants are exploring The Changing Seasons in the local landscape through collage, painting, drawing and more. Together, they are working towards a large collaborative artwork for public display.
Our first workshop on 10 September was a real success. Over tea, cake, and plenty of laughter, everyone got creative – experimenting with fabric, paper, paint and pens. The sessions have already sparked new friendships and a wonderful sense of connection.
This project is all about offering older members of our community the chance to express themselves, enjoy shared creativity, and make something lasting and inspiring
