Children's Art Packs for Kings Lynn Foodbank

Children's Art Packs for Kings Lynn Foodbank

15 Dec 2023

This Christmas, volunteers at The Arts Society King's Lynn worked hard to provide packs of art and crafts materials to children whose families are clients at King's Lynn Foodbank.

Tricia Rowlands, Arts Volunteering Representative for The Arts Society Kings Lynn talks about how a grant from The Arts Society helped in their local community.

"We were able to raise sufficient money through grants from the Arts Society and Norfolk Community Foundation and donations from local charity the Guella Trust, local businesses Hayes and Storr Solicitors and Learning Resources UK and members of The Arts Society King's Lynn and King's Lynn Community Cinema Club. With the money raised we bought materials for 200 art packs suitable for children from 3 to 12+ years. Included in the packs were pads of paper, card, assorted stationery and age appropriate story books.

The bags were hand sewn by our members and local sewing groups. We were extremely
grateful to be able to produce 200 packs this year as we are aware that the number of clients being supported at our local foodbank is 40% higher than last year... the recipients couldn't have been more appreciative."
