Very successful raffles held at each monthly lecture enabled The Arts Society Taunton to distribute 100 bags filled with art materials to the children of families currently using Taunton Foodbank’s critical services. Filled with a colourful variety of materials including pencils, card, watercolour paints, brushes and a sketch book, they were designed to inspire and bring joy to the children. A community grant has made it possible for the society to produce more art bags to be distributed through the Nelson Trust who provide support for vulnerable women and their families in the local area. The project was led by two committee members while more committee members helped by spending a morning filling the bags.
Felicity, Deputy Manager of the Taunton Foodbank, said “The art bags have been really well received and clients have gone away delighted with them”.
