Artist's works conserved via Patricia Fay funding are stars of the show!

24 May 2017

A major exhibition of the work of Sidney Sime- Artist and Philosopher is running at the Lightbox, Woking ( 25 mins from Waterloo) until 28th May. It shows the work of this forgotten Victorian virtuoso covering; theatre illustrations, fantasy works, landscapes, portraits and fairy-tales.The Gallery has been supported by several local The Arts Society groups, including Guildford and Woking. In addition, a number of the artists works have been conserved and restored through funding via Patricia Fay grants and they form part of the exhibition. Two of the conservators recently spoke at the Gallery and thanked The Arts Society for introducing them to the Sidney Sime Gallery and funding the work as part of their Conservation on Paper, Masters Degree at UAL Camberwell. June Robinson the National Chair attended the Private View and was thrilled by the exhibition and the contribution made by The Arts Society Guildford who also provide a stewarding and archiving team at the Gallery.
