THE ARTS SOCIETY DRIFFIELD WOLDS

The society marked its 30th Anniversary Event by holding a supper and lecture at Sledmere House, near Driffield, on 5 July.  This was by kind permission of Sir Tatton Sykes.

We were pleased to invite Julia Charlton-Weedy, Trustee of The Arts Society and Lizzie Darbyshire, our North East Area Chairman as our guests. Around 70 people attended including members from the Arts Society Holderness who also travelled to join in our celebration.

The speaker was Anthony Russell who gave an outstanding lecture on Vincent Van Gogh.  This was held in the sumptuous library and was a great success.  Mrs Jane Warburton was presented with a bouquet of flowers to commemorate her work and for being one of the founder members of the society.

Wine was served on arrival and this was followed by a lovely 2 course supper.
