The Arts Society Oakham (TASO) brings local people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.

Our events provide opportunities to hear expert and well known lecturers share their specialist knowledge across a very wide range of subject areas: from Archaeology to Music to Photography to Wallpaper designs, as well as the more traditional Fine Arts, Ceramics and Textiles.

In addition, our society members contribute to and preserve our artistic heritage in the local museum, by volunteering there, and by grant giving in the community.

We feel we help create a better, healthier and more connected society.

With, currently, over 200 members our monthly lectures are attended by, on average, 135, who share refreshments before the speaker is announced. We are delighted that, at every meeting the atmosphere buzzes with anticipation and new friends are made. And, as members leave the hall, we sense the enjoyment had and the interest in returning next time.
