Welcome to The Arts Society Dulwich
The Arts Society Dulwich brings people together through a shared curiosity for the arts. Our lectures on the second Thursday of the month provide welcoming places to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge of the arts. We also arrange walks and visits to places of interest, at cost. The Society contributes to our local artistic heritage through grants. Our work helps to create a better, healthier, more connected society.
Our society was founded in 1973 as Dulwich Decorative & Fine Arts Society (DDFAS) to promote interest in the decorative and fine arts in Dulwich and surrounding areas. The name changed to The Arts Society Dulwich in 2017.
Our annual fee is £60 single/£110 joint/£12 students for 10 evening lectures (7.30 for 8pm) from October to July. The lectures are also available to members live on Zoom (but note, they are not recorded). They are held in the comfortable purpose-built lecture theatre at James Allen's Girls' School Sixth Form Centre, which has its own entrance and parking off Green Dale (please note, there is no access from the main school in East Dulwich Grove. Go around the corner into Green Dale). Wine £4 a glass cash or card, water and nibbles free.
If you'd prefer not to commit to the full programme (the fee works out at only £6 per lecture), come to lectures as a guest paying £10 cash or card per lecture (£2 students) at the door. No need to book. Find everything you need to know about our programme and activities on our website www.theartssocietydulwich.org.uk or contact Christine Brandon at info@theartssocietydulwich.org.uk.
We have no waiting list. We're a sociable, friendly group and welcome new members. Members joining after February pay reduced fees - see www.theartssocietydulwich.org.uk/membership.
