SOCIETY PROJECT GRANTS
Member Societies of The Arts Society may apply for a grant to support projects they wish to deliver or support within their local communities. Our aim is to help broaden access to the arts and ensure that people of all ages can benefit from meaningful artistic and heritage experiences.
Society Project Grants support activities that enable members, volunteers and the wider community to engage with the arts—particularly those who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
Application Rounds
We run two grant rounds each year:

Spring Round:
Opens: 1 March
Closes: 31 March -
Autumn Round:
Opens: 1 September
Closes: 30 September
Applicants will be notified of the Grants Committee’s decision by the end of the month following the close of each round.
Please note: Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful applications.
WHAT YOU CAN APPLY FOR
Societies may apply for grants of up to £3,000 to support:
ARTS VOLUNTEERING PROJECTS
These may include:

Student art lectures or enrichment sessions
-
Visits to galleries and museums
-
Young artist exhibitions
-
Arts materials or workshop costs
-
Practical arts sessions
-
Local Arts Week initiatives
-
Bursaries for individual students
-
Sponsorship for craft apprentices
HERITAGE VOLUNTEERING OR TRAILS OF DISCOVERY PROJECTS
Applications are welcome for Society-led initiatives that support:

Heritage research
-
Conservation-related volunteering
-
Trails of Discovery development or delivery
We particularly encourage projects with strong local impact and those supporting arts or heritage activity at grassroots level.
WHAT WE DON’T FUND
-
Operational costs, machinery or equipment
-
Projects that have already started (applications may be submitted for a new phase, if clearly defined)
-
Applications not submitted in line with required procedures
-
Societies with high levels of reserves (Societies should check reserves with their Treasurer)
-
Repeat applications within one calendar year of receiving a Project Grant
-
e.g. A Society funded in the Spring Round cannot apply again until the following Spring Round
