HERITAGE VOLUNTEERING
From historic houses and gardens to museums and archives, our volunteers play an important role in caring for and sharing the UK’s rich heritage. Working alongside curators and other heritage professionals, you could gain unique access to some of the country’s most fascinating places while making a real difference.
There are opportunities to suit a wide range of interests. Volunteers might help conserve historic books, carry out research in historic parks and gardens, support archives or welcome visitors as stewards. With training and guidance from experts, you’ll develop new skills while contributing to the conservation and understanding of our shared heritage.
Want to get involved? Your local Society may already have Heritage Volunteering projects underway, so get in touch with them to find out what opportunities are available in your area.
If you have a question about volunteering, or an idea for a new heritage volunteering initiative, we’d love to hear from you. Email volunteering@theartssociety.org
