SCRIBBLE ZONE - OUR SUPPORT FOR A YOUNG ARTISTS GROUP
31 Oct 2019
An arts group for young people in Northallerton has received a welcome funding boost.
A new storage unit has been purchased for Scribble Zone, an arts group open to young people aged 11 - 16. Scribble Zone meets weekly in Northallerton Library and currently has between 15 - 17 youngsters who regularly attend. Scribble Zone provides them with an affordable means of experimenting with different styles of art, giving them an art school experience (as opposed to a more limited school experience). It is led by artist volunteer Wendi May New, has the backing of Northallerton Library and is a Charitable Trust.
The much-needed multi-purpose storage unit enables the group to centralise all its resources – much of which has been donated to the group at no cost.
The Arts Society Hambleton Young Arts representative Debbie Burrows said: “Our Society is keen to support the development of young artists and we were delighted to be able to provide storage facilities for Scribble Zone.”
Scribble Zone Leader Wendy May New said she was very grateful to The Arts Society Hambleton for their interest, support and funding for the wonderful cupboard.
