This lecture plunges into the dazzling, dramatic world of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the towering figure of the Italian Baroque whose genius transformed both sculpture and architecture into instruments of awe. Bernini was not only a virtuoso sculptor but also an architect, painter, stage designer, and dramatist, an artist who brought theatrical energy to every medium he touched, orchestrating spaces that still leave viewers breathless. The lecture will emphasise Bernini’s capacity to integrate sculpture, architecture, painting, and light into unified experiences that transcend individual mediums.
