How is fashion used in art to make us want to see more.

From shimmering silks to glittering brocades, the paintings in London's National Gallery provide a treasure trove of information about fashionable clothing. There is a wealth of close-up details of dress, on view, to attract the eye and seduce the senses. Artists from Avercamp to Zoffany have painted people from many different time periods (and angles) revealing a rich seam of information about their activities, interests and appearance.
