Uckfield Music Club has announced details of its 2026 programme of summer evening concerts. As usual, there will be three, all on Thursdays, all starting at 19.30 and all staged in the serenely beautiful and medieval setting of St Margaret's Church in Buxted. Outline Programme
Thursday 21 May - Hastings Philharmonic Ensemble
This concert features a group of international musicians from the fully professional Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra who will perform these masterpieces of the classical chamber music repertoire:
Beethoven's Septet in E Flat Major (op 20)
For Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn, Violin, Viola, Cello & Double Bass.
Schubert's sparkling Octet in F Major
Same instruments as for Beethoven Septet plus additional violin.
Thursday 18 June - Astatine Trio
This all-female Trio has emerged as one of the UK's most exciting young ensembles, most recently being named BBC Radio 3's "New Generation Artists" for 2025-27. From 2022 to 2025, they were mentored by renowned pianist Alfred Brendell at his personal invitation, and have since won a host of awards including first prizes at the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition and at the Lucca (Italy) Virtuoso Competition, plus a special prize at the 2025 Franz Schubert & Modern Music Competition in Graz. They will perform:

Kelly-Marie Murphy's "Give Me Phoenix Wings To Fly"
Beethoven's Archduke Trio op 97
Thursday 23 July - Amiri Harewood - Piano
In recent years, Uckfield Music Club has been very successful in bringing to Buxted thrilling concerts by rising stars of the piano ... and 2026 looks like being no exception. Amiri Harewood was Grand Prize Winner of Young Classical Artist Trust prior to being named a Classic FM rising star for 2025 while performing throughout the UK. His career continues to flourish with débuts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Das Konzerthaus in Berlin. He is also scheduled to make his North American début with a tour including recitals in Chicago and New York. His recent concerto performance with the Chineker Orchestra at London's Festival Hall was widely acclaimed. At Buxted, he will perform :
Shostakovich: Prelude & Fugues No 1 in C Major
Rachmaninoff: Preludes op 32 No 11 in B Major
J S Bach: French Suite No 4 in E Flat Major
Schumann: Ghost Variations
Interval
Debussy: Book 2 No 8 (Ondine) & No 9 (Hommage à S Pickwick Esq)
Brahms: Sonata No 3 in F Minor.
