Join us on this short break to Barcelona to discover and learn about the famous artists such as Antoni Gaudi, Picasso and Salvador Dali. The tour includes a sightseeing tour of Gaudi’s Barcelona and a full day excursion discovering Dali’s House, Museum and Theatre. There will be plenty of free time to explore the city, visit museums and to do some shopping and sightseeing.

Day 1 Sunday 04 October 2026 – Travel to Spain
We will transfer by coach to Bristol Airport (pick-ups from Kingsbridge, along the A379 to Dartmouth) and check-in for our 14:55 hours Easyjet flight to Barcelona, arriving 18:00 hours. We will be met on arrival and transferred by coach to our hotel, Catalonia Portal de l’Angel, for the next 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. After check-in, the rest of the evening is at leisure. Suggest a walk to the nearby Cathedral and a drink at the famous Four Cats café. Supper can be arranged in a local bistro. It is always fun to meet up in the hotel’s bar after super to discuss our day and plans for the next.

Day 2 Monday 05 October 2026 – Gaudi’s Barcelona
After breakfast, and accompanied by a local English-speaking guide, we will discover Gaudi’s Barcelona by coach. Visits will be made to the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s masterpiece and where he is buried in the Church’s crypt and also to Park Güell, a complex of parks, gardens and architecture designed by Gaudi. We will also visit Casa Milà (la Pedrera) and see externally Casa Batlló, Palau Güell and Casa Vicens. Entrances included - Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and Casa Milà (la Pedrera).
After the tour, the rest of the day and evening will be at leisure. Supper can be booked in a local bistro or you may want to go and explore some of Barcelona’s night life. Evening meet-up in hotel bar is always an option.

Day 3 Tuesday 06 October 2026 – Dali’s Portlligat, Cadaqués and Figueres
Our coach excursion today is to places associated with Salvador Dali and, once again, we will be accompanied by a local English-speaking guide. First stop will be the Salvador Dali House Museum, once a humble fisherman’s hut, where the artist painted some of his most iconic works and was his residence for 40 years. Before leaving we will also visit Portlligat Cove in Cadaqués, a picture postcard beach overlooked by Dali’s house. There will be time to get some lunch before continuing by coach to Figueres to visit The Dalí Theatre and Museum dedicated to the artist and who is buried in a crypt below the stage. The theatre is considered to be his last great masterpiece and was built on the remains of the Municipal Theatre. Return to our hotel for an evening at leisure. Supper can
be booked in a local bistro or you may want to go and explore some of Barcelona’s night life. Evening meet-up in hotel bar is always an option.

Day 4 Wednesday 07 October 2026 – Picasso in Barcelona
After breakfast in the hotel, walk to the Picasso Museum for a tour with an English-speaking guide. The rest of the day and evening is free to explore more of Barcelona. There is the option to purchase an ‘ArtTicket’ which will give you entrance to 6 museums - The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), Museu Nacional, MACBA, Museu Picasso, The Fundació Joan Miró, and Museu Tàpies. Maybe purchase a 1- or 2-day hop-on/hop-off city bus ticket and explore the city further or revisit some of the places we saw on the city tour on Monday? Or take a cable car ride over the port to Montjuic?
Supper can be booked in a local bistro or you may want to go and explore some of Barcelona’s night life. Evening meet-up in hotel bar is always an option.

Day 5 Thursday 08 October 2026 – Return to the UK
There may be some time to do some last-minute sightseeing or shopping before departing the hotel by coach at the agreed time for our Easyjet flight to Bristol departing at 22.20 hours. On arrival in Bristol around 23.40 hours, the coach will be waiting to transfer us back home to Dartmouth and Kingsbridge.
