As part of our Meet the Artist series, we invite our members to visit the studio of Yuko, a Uruguayan artist based in Mallorca whose work is deeply inspired by Japanese art and culture.

Yuko’s practice centers on Fantasy Forests — poetic, almost sentient trees shaped by water, movement, and imagination. Working with delicate, water-based techniques such as Suminagashi, she creates ethereal forms that feel both dreamlike and deeply rooted in nature. Guided by a profound connection to water, her work weaves together Japanese aesthetics and Mediterranean light, inviting viewers into quiet, enchanted worlds.

During our visit to Yuko’s studio in Andratx, the artist will demonstrate her unusual working techniques and present a selection of her works, which she often pairs with Haiku — poems written in the Japanese tradition.

We look forward to sharing this intimate encounter with Yuko’s artistic world.

After the studio visit, we will head out together for tapas to continue the conversation and enjoy time together.
