This lecture will be an artistic experience taking you on a journey around the world to discover the answer to what moves you.

Depicting dance in art has always made sense; the dynamism, beauty and expressiveness of dance has made it a captivating subject for countless artists. Dance holds an important position in human nature, with movement being ingrained within us all. Whether it be a celebration, ritualistic or expressive, dance, like other forms of art, also plays a significant cultural role.

Jennifer Toynbee Holmes
I am passionate about the arts and love sharing my knowledge with others. I am an experienced guide at Tate Modern and Tate Britain, and an accredited NADFAS lecturer. I give lectures at various art societies and institutions and I have a special interest in British art of the late 18th 19th and early 20th century. Having gained an MA in film and television practice, I had a long standing career as a producer/director making documentaries and factual programming for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and corporate clients. I have lectured at Goldsmiths College and Birkbeck: University of London and was a senior lecturer at Southampton Solent University. Having lived in west London close to Holland Park for much of my life I have detailed knowledge of the area and the secrets it holds.
