*New Project* - Community & Young Arts

Francis House Hospice 

We are delighted to announce that our Community & Young Arts fund is about to help to sponsor a project at Francis House Children’s Hospice, Didsbury, the only Children’s Hospice in the Greater Manchester area. Find out more at http://francishouse.org.uk

The hospice supports children and young people with end-of-life care as well as providing respite care and support for families with terminally ill children. It also runs a dedicated sibling support programme designed to provide emotional and social support to children and young people who have a brother or sister receiving care at Francis House.

The two wings of the hospice are joined by a corridor with a rather plain and austere wall which the older children have proposed be brightened up to reflect the positivity and cheerfulness of the environment. To this end, a local artist has been commissioned to design a painted mural with considerable input from the children. 

We will keep you posted on progress on this most worthwhile project that will bring joy to a group of young people and their families who are facing unbelievable challenges.
