The Dowager Marchioness of Salisbury

We learned with great sadness that The Dowager Marchioness of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Monday 12th December, aged 94.  She was regarded as the “high priestess” of historic garden design, best known for her triumphant restoration of the gardens at Hatfield House, the Cecil family’s  Jacobean seat in Hertfordshire and her designs for the Prince of Wales’ gardens at Highgrove.  Lady Salisbury was a great supporter of NADFAS and was Patron from 1989 to 1995.
