Who is The Arts Society Eastbourne?

We are a local charitable society, affiliated to the national Arts Society, serving Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.  We promote the arts to the general public by running lectures, study days and trips covering a wide variety of arts-related subjects.  We also support local arts-based charities, educational establishments and community groups.

We operate an annual membership, open to all, which allows us to plan our charitable activities.  As a member you enjoy access to our nine monthly lectures, plus receipt of our regular newsletter and the quarterly Arts Society magazine.  We always welcome new members! Please contact Maggie on tasememsec@yahoo.com if you would like to join.

We also welcome non-members although due to space constraints in the hall we must limit the number of non-members at our monthly lectures, generally to a maximum of 5 per lecture. Therefore prebooking for non-members is essential - please contact Maggie on tasememsec@yahoo.com. We welcome anyone, subject always to space constraints and safety considerations. We do ask for a voluntary donation from non-members to help defray our costs, but you are free to give whatever you wish. 

We always welcome feedback on the lectures and suggestions regarding future topics. 

We also welcome help with running our Society! If you are a member and could help with maintaining the website or the Facebook page, with researching Arts Volunteering programmes, with 'meeting and greeting' members on lecture days, or  handling our liaison with East Dean Hall, we would love to hear from you!
