YOUNG ARTS WORKSHOP AT THE GRANGE ACADEMY
YOUNG ARTS WORKSHOP AT THE GRANGE ACADEMY
30 May 2022
"The first North Bedfordshire Arts Society Young Arts Workshop of 2022 was held at the Grange Academy in Kempston. We asked our member artist, Anne-Marie Abbate, to run the workshop for Years 10 and 11.
The pupils listened, concentrated and had great fun working with a range of different fabrics, wallpapers, feathers etc. Tracing, precision cutting and glueing were involved in making their own interpretations of the drawings given. Rollers were used to ink their designs and then printing took place. Feather printing was also a great success!
The pupils' collographs, feather prints, mono printing and print making will be submitted as part of their Natural Form G.C.S.E. Art Exam.
This all served to illustrate a favourite quotation of the school: IF THEY CANT LEARN THE WAY WE TEACH, WE WILL TEACH THE WAY THEY LEARN.
The day was made possible by a £250 Community Grant from the Arts Society".
