Young Arts Volunteering Basingstoke

In recent weeks, The Arts Society Basingstoke volunteers have been working at St Bede's Roman Catholic Primary School, alongside textile artist, Vanessa Rolf, whom we have employed to manage and inspire the children in a project on design and William Morris. This will culminate in an exhibition at The Willis Museum Basingstoke in July, where children’s work will be displayed alongside that from Winklebury Junior School, where we are working on another project to do with local history called, Beneath our Feet. Vanessa Rolf will guide this project also. Both projects are intended to raise the awareness and importance of the arts among the younger generation and are only possible because of a grant from The Patricia Fay Fund.
