21 Oct 2024
Bath Young Inventor (BYI) Award 2024 was a collaboration between Museum of Bath at Work, (MoBaW), Bath Medical Museum (BMM) and 44AD artspace.
The award 2024 was aimed at children 8-17 years, to learn about and explore inventions and local inventors - ultimately designing their own invention entry for the award.
BYI Award 2024 comprised a publicised digital launch, a series of talks, walks and workshops aimed at young people, and culminated with an exhibition presenting children’s entries and a prize giving ceremony.
All activities were free admission.
Thank you again for such a wonderful experience for Anna and the children, Anna loved taking part and is so proud of the trophy!
She took it in to show her teacher last week and gave a show and tell to the class (Award winner 2024) (8Years)
Thanks to The Arts Society Wessex Area for their support and sponsorship of £400 which enabled the printing of a 2024 edition of ‘Inventors of Bath’ trail booklets to accompany the BYI 2024 award as an inspirational tool.
‘Inventors of Bath’ trail guides the visitor on a walk around Bath, highlighting over 30 inventors and innovators alongside places of interest.
1000 copies of the booklet were printed and free to pick up from 44AD artspace, MoBaW and other venues. Distribution was also taken to local primary and secondary schools in Bath.
The Arts Society Wessex Area was shown as a benefactor on all BYI 2024 documentation, websites and other associated materials, including the use of their logo on publicity, trail booklet, promo leaflets, and social media attached to the BYI award.
