OUTING TO SCAMPSTON HALL AND GARDENS- 13 JUNE

Scampston Hall  https://www.scampston.co.uk/ near Malton was completed in 1800. Regency decoration and furnishings are adorned with an important collection of paintings and of porcelain. Set in a Capability Brown created landscape, the extensive walled gardens have seen the modern magic touch of renowned contemporary garden designer, Piet Outdolf. Susan, our Outing’s Secretary writes:-

We were expecting a very wet day on our recent outing to Scampston Hall and Gardens. Amazingly the rain stopped on our arrival, just timed to enjoy an excellent tour of the walled gardens with the head gardener!! The colours ofthe flowers and foliage were awesome and very atmospheric in the overcast light.

Our hall tour was interesting and informative with many superb paintings and furnishings. A truly beautiful country house.

As to catering, morning coffee and our lunches were delicious.  A perfect day out.......
