MIMA and MuMa on show

Two major exhibitions open in the North Yorkshire & South Durham area on 26th September. 

Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art is hosting this year's prestigious contemporary art competition, the Turner Prize, on behalf of Tate Britain. The work of the four shortlisted artists will be on display with the winner announced December 10.

Impressions of light: masterpieces from MuMa Le Havre and the Bowes Museum is bringing works by major Impressionist painters from France to Barnard Castle.  The exhibition exploring landscape includes works by Monet, Baudin, Corbet, Pisarro and Dufy, some of which have not previously been displayed in the UK.
