Lord Sackville's Garden Knole

Lord Sackville's Garden Knole

9 Sep 2026

The trip to Knole was selected to coincide with one of the open days for Lord Sackville's Private Garden.

This gave an extra dimension to our day and was a lovely walk through parkland with specimen trees and ponds together with more formal gardens.

The plants have had to endure a hot summer but the autumn crocus were delightful and the butterfly was making the most of the verbena.

Of course the wider parkland is famous for its deer - they are very tolerant of the crowds of visitors!  However in the garden we also spotted a group of parakeets, one can just be made out in the tree although they are similar shades of green.
