We are delighted to announce that the winner of The Arts Society's 2024/25 A Level Art Competition is Megan Wright from Peter Symonds College for her piece, The End of the Day. She was put forward by The Arts Society Winchester.
Chair of The Arts Society, Jeremy Thomas, has said: "One of the pleasures of being Chair has been helping to draw up the shortlist for our 2024 A Level Art Competition. The entries were impressive; it was hard to whittle them down to 25 works."
Thank you to everyone who took part in the public vote. Over 4000 of you cast your votes for the shortlisted entries. To see the full shortlist please click here.
Megan has commented: "I am truly honoured to have been selected as this year’s competition winner. I was not expecting it as there were so many incredible entries and I am so thrilled that I could represent my college in this way."

The Arts Society Winchester, which nominated Megan, has commented:
"It's a joyous thing to be involved with young people’s art. The annual national ‘A’ Level Student Art Competition, run by The Arts Society, provides us with just that.
In July each year a small group of us has the privilege of attending the exciting ‘End of Year Art Show’ at our local 6th form college, Peter Symonds. There we select six fantastic pieces of art for the competition. At our Christmas lecture our whole Society then has the thrill of presenting the six worthy students with framed prints of their artwork.
Last year we were dazzled by Jodie Clark’s ‘Sleeping Figure’ which won the runner- up prize and this year by Megan Wright’s winning atmospheric painting ‘The End of the Day’.
To support and encourage young people in their artistic talent is truly wonderful and we savour that opportunity with gratitude."
