Les Trois Grandes Dames of Impressionism,

South London has been the place to be this summer for aficinados of the female Impressionist painters.  Inspired by Sarah Burles talk in April at  Arts Society Croydon Area on Les Trois Grandes Dames of Impressionism, members were able to view Berthe Morisot’s paintings at the splendid Dulwich Picture Gallery Exhibition Berthe Morisot  - Shaping Impressionism. Then, in May,  at the request of both Arts Society Croydon Area and Arts Society Sanderstead, our local volunteer run David Lean Cinema in Croydon arranged a showing of Exhibition on Screen’s very informative film Mary Cassatt - Painting the Modern Woman.  It has been very good to have had such a comprehensive artistic experience!
