Eltham Palace

19 Jun 2024

Once again the sun shone and we had a lovely time at Eltham Palace.

We moved from medieval times to the 20th century.  Our guide told us about the lives of Ginnie and Stephen Courtald who commissioned the more nmodern part of the palace in the 1930s.  The Art Deco features are amazingly and Ginnie's bathromm was a sight to behold.  We look forward to hearing more about Art Deco in January 2025 when Pamela campbell-Johnston will be giving her lecture on Marion Dorn, the textile designer who had close links with Eltham.
