‘Dragonfly’ Sculpture Inspires Creativity and Conservation at Chester Country Park

A striking new sculpture took flight in Chester Country Park. Dragonfly, created by artist Russell Kirk, was installed in May 2025 as part of the park’s conservation area, bringing both beauty and educational value to visitors.

The sculpture is not only an eye-catching addition to the landscape but also serves as a creative tool. Children and adults alike are encouraged to explore artistic and creative writing activities inspired by the dragonfly. The project aims to spark imagination while raising awareness of local wildlife and the importance of conservation.

The Dragonfly project was supported by a generous grant from The Arts Society Chester, helping to bring this inspiring combination of art, education, and environmental awareness to life. It stands as a vibrant reminder of the role public art can play in engaging communities and encouraging a deeper appreciation of nature.

Visitors to Chester Country Park are invited to enjoy the sculpture and participate in the creative activities it inspires, making it a unique destination for families, schools, and art enthusiasts alike.
