Two groups of Young Carers enjoyed Easter themed workshops at the Discover Bucks Museum on April 2nd. Local printmaker, Alexandra Buckle, demonstrated relief printing techniques using safe tools and then assisted the children with drawing, mixing paints and production. With extra volunteers to support them, the children enthusiastically produced several prints each. The morning session was for 7 to 9 years and the afternoon session up to age 11.
Discover Bucks Museum provided a large learning zone as well as offering complimentary museum tickets. Three members of the Carers Bucks organisation stayed all day. Rebecca Woodford, Education Manager was extremely helpful throughout the whole planning process, including organising posters and welcome signs. The Museum provided volunteer, Harriet, for the day, and Arts Society committee members Sarah Grimwood and Christine van Winkelen ably assisted all day.
32 children were booked onto the course, however, on the day there were a few unable to attend. All those involved commented how much the children had enjoyed the day.
