Community Art Projects for 2023/24 Arts Society Chester
24 Jan 2025
We have funded several very worthwhile projects, namely:
Highfield Primary School – who have progressed well in the decorating of their boundary school fence with the pupils of the school.
Arches Community School - an after school club which included copying paintings by famous artists and designing a 2023 Card for the Mayor of Chester.
The Unity Club - Created many crafts including a welcome sign in various languages.
Trena Cox – A project which involved various charities to create and install 500mm
daisy structures. These were displayed outside Chester Cathedral and are now on permanent display in the Country Park surrounding the Friendship Bench. (This was partially funded from The Arts Society North West Area Office)
HM Thorn Cross Prison - Purchase of 6 guitars and guitar lessons for the prisoners and staff. (This was fully funded by The Arts Society Head Office).
A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO THE CHESTER ART SOCIETY MEMBERS WHO PURCHASE RAFFLE TICKETS AT OUR MONTHLY LECTURES. WITHOUT YOUR VERY KIND GENEROSITY WE COULD NOT FUND THESE VERY WORTHWHILE PROJECTS.
