Alcoholic Beverage Service at the Henfield Hall.
17 Sep 2024
There have been some changes to the terms and conditions associated with hire of the Henfield hall. These changes mean that societies and clubs that make use of the catering resources must now use the hall’s own bar facilities. Hall users are no longer able to offer their own bar services. The new rules state:-
“Alcohol may only be consumed on the premises via
· The Henfield Hall Bar sales
· When the Bar is not included individuals may bring their own alcohol for their own consumption
· Legally, NO alcohol can be sold privately or provided via a ticket system or included in a ticket price”
If this society were to offer bar service using the hall’s bar, this would add a cost of £150 to the event. Also the cost of wine purchases would be an additional charge per person. Accordingly, our Christmas lunch will NOT include wine, but guests are free to bring their own. This is a good Australian solution where B.Y.O (bring your own) restaurants have been popular for decades. Similar arrangements will come into effect for our D.O.S.I. days.
