Greater London Area Grants
Have you got a good idea for a project? Do you need funds to help?
Greater London Area Societies
We would like to support our Societies
-- to help children and young people have some understanding of the arts, to encourage creativity and to awake interest,
--and also, to promote the Arts Society, in all aspects such as education and grant giving activities, heritage volunteering
---with community support
The Area offers a grant to each of our 26 societies of up to £500. Each society is asked to try and at least match fund this amount; and the ‘wealthier’ ones will add even more!! For societies with insufficient funds to do projects, the area grant will be enough to do something practical.
Individual societies may have local press or social media contacts to further promote this.
What the Society should do:-
After discussion with their committee each society is asked to source their project.
Then apply to the area committee using the Area Grant Form; as long as this is within the general remit, we will agree it.
The Society will ensure that the project was carried out and arrange for some photographs to be taken (with all relevant permissions) and let us have a thorough report on the event.
The area committee will make arrangements to pay the money directly to the Society so they can present it to the project.

External Organisations
The Greater London Area does consider requests for a modest grant from charitable organisations. We are prepared to make grants and donations to individuals or groups in order to further interest in the arts or crafts.
There are a few “rules” as follows: -
The project must be within the London area and involve young people in the arts or crafts, or contribute to conservation or restoration or have an educational outcome for all ages
Recent examples are supporting children with limited access to music, to puppetry, to theatre, to dance, and to circus skills. We also gave money to an organisation running a choir for homeless people through weekly workshops helping them to build skills and improve well-being. We support the provision of art for those in detention, as well as opportunities for young opera singers. We also give bursaries for craft makers.
At the conclusion of a project, London Area will require a short report or presentation on the outcome of the project. We also require acknowledgement of the donation with publicity on behalf of the Greater London Area of The Arts Society, also some mention of us and our activities in any publicity material produced by the recipients
