Welcome to The Arts Society Kent Area, a great way to expand your knowledge of the arts.
I became the Chair of Kent Area in May 2020, not brilliant timing given the lockdown we are experiencing. All the Kent Societies are working very hard to keep programmes running digitally and by whatever means they can think of in order to keep their members engaged with The Society.
National Office is also communicating regularly with all the membership, offering online lectures, Forums to discuss art in and information to Committees to help them in their task.
The Kent Committee is keeping things ticking over digitally as far as it can.
Hopefully our normal activities will be up and running again soon.
Feel free to contact me if you want information about Societies in Kent or need help running your Society at this time.
There are currently 19 societies in The Arts Society Kent Area, each with their own society pages.
The Area brings together representatives of all the societies in our area. In this way Societies can benefit from the experiences of other Societies, raise any concerns and be kept up to date with current national policies. The Area offers support to the Societies through Area meetings, education events and training for new and potential committee members.
Society and affiliate members can become involved in worthwhile conservation volunteering projects in churches, museums, castles and historic houses. Our Church Recorders, Heritage Volunteers, Young Arts and Church Trails offer invaluable help to many public institutions, enhancing and encouraging the appreciation and understanding of art and our artistic heritage.
