Welcome to The Arts Society Harlow

Our Society brings people together through a shared curiosity for the arts and a desire to conserve our artistic heritage.
Our events provide a welcoming place to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge on a wide range of subjects. The Arts Society is a great way to learn, have fun and make new and lasting friendships.

Recent lectures have included: The History of the British Theatre, Pots and Frocks: The World of Grayson Perry and Turner and the Thames.

Apart from monthly lectures we arrange organised trips for members. Recently these have included: The Purcell Choir in Westminster Abbey, Ingatestone Hall and Great Warley Church, Queens Gallery Canaletto Exhibitiion, The Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds and Ickworth and a one night stay in Sussex to visit Farley Farm, Charleston and Chartwell.

As a Society, we support the Arts in our area through two local primary schools, Fawbert and Barnard in Old Harlow and Churchgate School.

Our friendly Society currently has a membership of about 120 and does not have a waiting list. The annual subscription is £45.
Lectures are given in the evening and members come from Harlow, Sawbridgeworth, Loughton, Epping and surrounding villages.

Lectures start at 8.00pm and last aproximately one and a half hours. Free tea or coffee is available from 7.15 - 7.45pm.

Guests may attend lectures at £7 per visit. Please contact the Membership Secretary by email at: harlow@theartssociety.org
