Welcome to The Arts Society Granta

Welcome to The Arts Society Granta

The Arts Society Granta (formerly Granta Decorative and Fine Arts Society), founded in 1985, is one of nearly 400 societies bringing people together through a shared interest in the arts.

Our most important activity is the programme of nine lectures a year. These are held on Tuesday mornings at 10.45am (coffee available from 10am) in the Wolfson Hall at Churchill College, Cambridge. We also arrange visits to places of interest , and each year there is a residential tour lasting between four and six days, alternating between the United Kingdom and overseas.

Granta continues to support our dedicated groups of Church Recorders, who record and photograph the interiors of churches and their contents, and Heritage Volunteers who help to record and file archival material for museums and other collections. We are also keen to resume our post-Covid support of the artistic talents of local school children through an annual art exhibition on their work.

We welcome new members. There is much more information about our activities and how to join us and on our Society website. We look forward to hearing from you.
