From Tchaikovsky to Tin Pan Alley - Uplifting music for Christmas

The Arts Society West Cornwall
Thursday, December 9, 2021 - 19:30
Zennor Building, Penwith College
St Clare Penzance TR18 2SA

Seasonal celebrations begin with musician and broadcaster Sandy Burnett sharing his selection of much-loved Christmas tunes.

This lecture will be held in the lecture theatre at the Zennor Building at Penwith College starting at 7.30 pm.

Expect an hour of the finest festive music from across the globe – his selections include sparking moments from Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker, a heartwarming ballad from Mel Tormé, something from Soweto, a heavenly chorus from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Leipzig, an illustration of the English carol tradition at its finest - and something more cynical from Eartha Kitt…
