Art & Medicine, from Ancient Egypt to the Nobel Prize

Welcome to The Arts Society Henfield
Thursday, February 28, 2019 - 11:00
Henfield Hall
Coopers Way Henfield BN5 9DB

A full study day of lectures. Tickets will cost £21 per person and they will be on sale at the January and February lectures.

We will learn about four thousand years of the history of gold in medicine. The ancient Egyptians used it for its magico-religious properties.  Medieval alchemists strived to produce it as a source of eternal youth, and today it is a substance used in medical instrumentation, investigation and cutting-edge therapies. In the afternoon we will be taxed with a quiz.

The lecturer for the day is to be Dr James Grant MBE.

Tickets will be available at the January and February lectures, or please phone Stephen Wyman on 01273 494633. The cost is £21 per person, including a full day of lectures, a sandwich lunch, and a glass of wine.
