Join Dr Alexandra Loske and The Arts Society Brighton and Hove for the talk Are you Feeling Blue or Green ? Mood and Meaning of Colour in Art.
In this talk colour researcher Dr Alexandra Loske will discuss how colour was and is used to express emotion. Beginning with the origins of associating colour with mood in the Romantic period, Alexandra will then focus on various avant-garde movements in art, design and literature of the late 19th and early 20th century, finishing with some examples of how recent and contemporary artists use colour as a theme and an expressive tool (for example Olafur Eliasson, David Batchelor, and Yayoi Kusama).
