The Arts Society Henfield was founded 50 years ago this year as Adur Valley Fine Arts Society: we were the 22nd. society to be formed. Our day of celebrations will include:-
At 2.00 p.m. a talk from the B.B.C. Antiques Roadshow jewellery expert Geoffrey Munn, with the possibility of valuations. Mr Munn has been associated with Henfield for a long time. A cream tea will be served and the cost of this event will be £12 per person
At 6.45 p.m. there will be a reception with canapes and sparkling wine. By 7.30 p.m. we will all be seated and the Covent Garden Minuet Dance Company will then give a demonstration, in period costume, of 17th.C. dancing. This will be followed by a buffet dinner, including wine, with a glass of sparkling wine to begin. The price of the evening will be £30 per person.
We plan to keep costs as low as possible, and tickets will be subsidised, so initially they will be sold to members only. When a member purchases a ticket they can add the name of one non-member to a waiting list. After the May meeting tickets will be offered to non-members on the waiting list on a first come, first served basis.
